Named for the season it began.
In 2020, Rebecca started a starter. A lot of people did. She kept going. The name Covie is a nod to that strange, quiet stretch of time — not a brand strategy, just when the baking began.
A kitchen that still has a family in it.
Covie is small on purpose. About two loaves on a good day. Enough for neighbors, family, and a short pre-order list. Rebecca is not trying to become a store. She’s trying to keep the bake in balance with the rest of a life.
The family is settling into Will County, Illinois — a new kitchen, a familiar starter. Pickup is local: Plainfield, Naperville, Joliet, Shorewood, and the rest of Will County. The exact address comes with your order. We don’t deliver, and we don’t ship.
Sourdough first. Cookies when the bread week is steady. The rest can wait.

- How do I order?
- Reserve online. Loaves sell first come, first served — when the count hits zero, that bake waits until next Saturday. Choose a Saturday pickup window. You’ll get a confirmation email with your ticket. Pay cash or Venmo at pickup.
- How do I hear about a new bake?
- Leave your name, phone, and email on the Saturday text page. Rebecca texts the list when this week’s loaves are posted. Ask to be taken off any time.
- Where is pickup?
- Will County, Illinois — neighbors in Plainfield, Naperville, Joliet, Shorewood, and nearby towns. The exact address is sent with your order. Pickup only; we don’t deliver.
- Do you deliver?
- No. Pickup only. This is a home kitchen, and the bake stays local on purpose.
- Do you ship?
- No. Loaves leave the kitchen on Saturday for neighbors who can pick them up. If you’re not in Will County, this isn’t the bakery for you — yet.
- How do I pay?
- Cash or Venmo at pickup. No card online — it keeps the week simple.
- Does the menu change?
- Yes. Rebecca is opening with three loaves — sourdough, chocolate sourdough, and chocolate sourdough with chocolate butter. Each week’s bake is posted on the shop. If it’s up, she’s willing to bake it.
- What about allergens?
- Every bake lists ingredients and allergens on its page. Most breads contain wheat. The chocolate loaf with chocolate butter also contains milk.
- Why does it sell out?
- First come, first served. Each loaf has a small weekly count. When it hits zero, that bake waits until next Saturday.
- Is this a commercial kitchen?
- Covie Baked Goods is a cottage food operation. These products are homemade and not prepared in an inspected kitchen.
